Govt investigations against Muslims biased: Deoband Madrasa
Srinagar, Tuesday, February 26, 2008:
A recent declaration passed by Dar-ul-Uloom accused government of being partial while conducting investigations into the cases of terrorism.
The declaration cautioned heads of seminaries from "malicious campaign" unleashed by communal forces and urged them not to allow themselves from being led by anti-Islamic or anti-national forces.
The conclave at Deoband in Uttar Pradesh declared terrorism in all forms as un-Islamic.
"We reject terrorism in all its forms and manifestations. Terrorism completely negates the teachings of Islam, which is faith of love and peace. We don't have any link or association with terrorism or terrorists," said Chief Rector of Darul Uloom Deoband Maulana Marghoob-ur Rahman.
More than 50,000 students and representatives from Madrasas of all schools of Islamic thought participated in the conclave.
The conclave was organised to ward-off all allegations against the Islamic seminaries for festering and breeding terrorists.
"Madrasas spread in every nook and corner of the country teach humanity, peace, reconciliation and love," said Rahman urging Madrasa managements to ensure transparency and pure Islamic environment in their schools.
