Kashmir opposition to participate in WG meets

Srinagar, Thursday, February 29, 2008:

Opposition National Conference President Omar Abdullah Thursday said that his party was ready to participate in the Indian Prime Minister's Working Group (WG) meetings after the recommendations of the fifth WG came out.

NC had boycotted the last WG meetings after participating in the earlier ones.

Omar said that the purpose of WGs was to heal the wounds of the suffering masses of Kashmir but added that until now no action has been initiated on the recommendations of the four groups.

"We are looking forward for the recommendations of the fifth group and our leadership is ready to participate and put forth their viewpoints as and when the meeting is convened," he added.
