Kashmir University to host 20th annual AIUTA conference

Srinagar, June 19, 2008:

Kashmir University (KU) Department of Urdu is all set to host the 20th annual conference of All India University Teachers Association (AIUTA) on 2nd and 3rd July 2008.

The inaugural session of the conference is scheduled on July 02, 2008 and the conference is expected to be attended by more than hundred delegates from different universities of India.

The conference will deliberate on the issues confronting the promotion of and teaching of Urdu in India with special reference to Indian administered Kashmir where Urdu is official and linking language among diverse linguistic units.

The conference will provide an opportunity for our teachers to share and consolidate their experiences said Prof Nazir Ahmad Malik Head of the Urdu department in Kashmir University.

KU Vice Chancellor Prof Riyaz Punjabi has lauded the efforts of the faculty and other staff for their enthusiasm in this regard.
