March 07, 2008: Dogs enjoy a sunny afternoon on a road in Srinagar, summer capital of Indian administered Kashmir, Thursday. Authorities in Srinagar say they have dropped a plan to kill more than 100,000 stray dogs by poisoning, after uproar by animal rights activists. The city is struggling to cope with a steep rise in the number of stray dogs and a proportional increase in dog bites. / Javed Dar
