December 23, 2009: Omar Abdullah (L), chief minister of Indian administered Kashmir receiving a report on New Delhi-Kashmir relations at winter capital Jammu. The report prepared by a government group headed by former Supreme Court judge Justice S. Saghir Ahmad has disapproved disintegration of Kashmir but recommended that the case of its special status within Indian federation be ‘settled once and for all.’ The report was presented by Ajit Kumar (R) Secretary to Ahmad in the presence of state minister Ali Sagar (C). / Kashmir Newz
December 23, 2009: Director General of Police Prisons Dr. Ashok Bhan inaugurating a new jail complex in Kupwara, north of Srinagar, summer capital of Indian administered Kashmir. Kupwara Jail is part of the programme under which India is constructing eight new prisons for accomodating increasing number of inmates, majority of whom are arrested for their affiliation with separatist insurgency that has been raging in this troubled region for the last 20 years./ Kashmir Newz
